Ali first started riding motorccycles back in 1999. Actually, they were mopeds, but that didn't stop him from modifying them and doing top speed tests...in the name of science, of course. Shortly thereafter he picked up a Kawasaki Ninja 250 and never looked back. Over the years he climbed up the ladder in displacement from 600s, 1100s and now races a Kawasaki ZX-12R and a Ninja 250 (both of which have claimed numerous land speed records).
Ali's "racing" first started around 2003 when he frequented the drag strip on sportbikes. Drag racing can be a real kick but he also wanted to explore the limits on a roadracing course and started dabbling in some track days. He did fairly well, advancing to the Intermediate group on possibly the most dilapidated 600 ever to roll a wheel on a road course. Howeve,r a new addiction began brewing in him and he longed to explore the deep end of 6th gear on his ZX-12R.
Fast forward to 2010 and he has not only broken records going over 200 mph at Bonneville, the Texas Mile, the Maxton Mile and Loring AFB but as of this writing has the highest clocked speed ever on a Kawasaki ZX-12R in the USA: 229.6 mph. His plans are to run both his Ninja 250 and ZX-12R to the highest speeds ever recorded in the world, an admitted work in progress that he readily admits to obssessing over! He has vowed to have the fastest Ninja 250 in th world in 2010 and
fastest ZX-12R in the world by 2011.
